Revere makes the broadest range of plate and sheet products in the world. We offer such alloys as naval brass, aluminum bronze and copper nickel in a wide variety of tempers, finishes and sizes up to 6" thick and 126" wide. Air Conditioning & Refrigeration

For maximum efficiency and longevity in air conditioning and refrigeration equipment, copper is once again the logical choice. Copper's excellent thermal conductivity offers unsurpassed efficiency while its resistance to corrosion promises long service life.

This is especially true in tough industrial or marine environments. Copper is frequently used, for example, for heat dispersing fins in the air conditioning systems of mass transit subway cars and in refrigerated shipping containers of ocean-going cargo ships.

Revere thin-gauge, dead soft copper strip is easily drawn into fins designed to dissipate heat. We use special processing methods to ensure that the collars of our fin stock will not crack during any operation.

Telecommunications

When used in telecommunications application, copper strip must meet uncompromising standards. This is true whether the application is television cable, antenna cable for cellular telephones, or undersea fiber-optic telephone cable thousands of kilometers long.

Revere Copper Products can meet these stringent requirements. Generally, high-conductivity oxygen-free copper is used. Since variations in the thickness of the strip can cause spikes and echoes, our rolling mills are equipped with computer-controlled gauge and shape devices to ensure extremely close tolerances. As a result, there is virtually no variation in thickness from side to side or end to end-coil after coil.

During production, a number of precautions are taken to assure a clean, smooth, stain-free surface. Work rolls are frequently ground and plated. Atmospheres are carefully controlled during annealing. The strip is repeatedly brushed and cleaned, and stain inhibitors are applied at finish. Throughout the procedure, statistical process control (SPC) is used to make certain all quality requirements are met.

Those who seek quality and lasting value of consumer products can choose from a wide variety of consumer products made of copper and brass. Everything from jewelry, cookware and silver plated flatware to furniture and garden equipment is attractive and functional when fashioned from these versatile metals.

Both copper and brass metals are easily formed into intricate shapes and, when polishes to a high luster, display rich, warm tones. While brass can be plated easily with precious metals such as gold or silver, both copper and brass are durable and will not rust like plated steel. Another plus for the consumer products manufacturer is the high value and recyclability of any scrap that may be generated during production.
